Destination Configuration for MultiSource Importer for JSM Assets
You need help from a Jira Administrator for the steps on this page.
Create a new destination definition by clicking the “Add New Destination” button.
Give a name for the definition and click the Add button.
Click the Close button.
To configure your destination:
Step 1
As a first step, click the Set/Select button for the Object Schema column.
You have two options in this section. You may create a new Object Schema or use an existing one.
Pro tip: We recommend creating a new Object Schema to store source-related data separately. This allows you to assign roles only to necessary users or groups. Since the imported data includes personal information, ensure compliance with your organization’s data policies.
You may find our recommendation on building your Assets structure on the following page:
Troubleshooting Connection Issues
If you don’t receive a success message, check the following:
User Permissions: Ensure the user is a Jira Admin and has a JSM User license.
Site Allow List: If an IP allow list is enabled, add the Forge IP addresses to grant access to your site through our application.
Option 1: Create a New Object Schema
Fill in the following fields:
Object Schema Name: Fleet
Object Schema Key: FLE
Description: Auto-generated Fleet data
Then, click "Create Object Schema" to proceed.
Please note: The links to the new schema will be shown above the configuration, just below the Schema Selection Configuration Heading.
Click the Close button to return to the destination list.
Option 2: Use an Existing Object Schema
Select an Existing Object Schema.
Click "Use Existing Object Schema" to continue.
Select the schema you would like to use.
If the selected schema already contains the same Object Types, you will be notified and required to update them before moving forward.
Ignoring the warning message and continuing would cause the schema not to work correctly. Please note that this case falls outside the scope of our support service.

Step 2
Import Token Configuration
To import a large amount of data into JSM Assets, you need to generate a key that securely authorizes the data transfer (more info).
Please add the Import Token for your External Import configuration in Assets.
Click on the Go to Schema Import Page link and configure the import configuration. (You may find it in the Schema Selection Configuration section.)
Navigate to the "Import" tab and click "Create Import" to begin the setup.
Select "External Import" and click "Next".
Enter a Name and Description
Click the three dots (…) and select "Generate new token".
Copy the generated token.
Select the Set button for your destination.
Paste the token into the Import Token field in Import Token Configuration, then click "Save & Check".
Click Close to return to the destination list.
Now, it is time to configure your connections.
