3. Assign Custom Attributes
Salesforce offers organizations the flexibility to add custom field values to object records. Since these field names are not predefined, we have introduced a new configuration under the Admin tab. This feature allows you to select and sync up to 30 custom field slots per Object Type with JSM Assets. Custom fields are supported for: Leads, Contacts, Accounts, Opportunities, Assets, and Contracts.
To view existing custom attributes, you can select Show Attributes.
To edit or add custom attributes, select Edit Attributes. Select an Object Type from the dropdown.
A pop-up dialog will appear, allowing you to enter or update the custom attributes.
Fill in the required details and click Save Selection to apply your changes.
The custom fields in Salesforce have a prefix of
__c. For example, if you have a custom field calledCost Center, you need to writeCost_Center__cto the configuration.Refer to Salesforce documentation for more details:
4. Custom Objects (Beta)
In addition to the 16 built-in Salesforce object types, the Admin tab provides a Custom Objects (Beta) feature that lets you import any Salesforce object — including your organisation's proprietary custom objects — by defining the object's API name and attribute mappings yourself.
Custom Objects is currently in Beta. For a full step-by-step guide including field type mapping, troubleshooting, and FAQ, see the Custom Objects - User Guide.
5. Additional Admin Features
The Admin tab provides several additional features to help manage and monitor your imports.
Import Status & History
Check the Import Status to monitor ongoing imports in real time and cancel a running import if needed. Import History shows a record of past runs including status, triggered by, result, type, start time, end time, and duration.
Audit Logs
The Audit Log records configuration changes made by administrators. It stores up to the 100 most recent entries. Since v4.21.0, audit log access is secured with server-side authentication, ensuring only authorised users can view the log.
Debug Logs
Use Debug Logs to troubleshoot import issues. Debug logs capture detailed runtime information that can help identify the source of an error.
Notify Me
Configure Automatic Notifications to receive alerts when an import fails or encounters errors. Notifications are delivered via a Jira Cloud Automation webhook URL that you configure.
Reset
The Reset option restores the app to its initial state, clearing all configuration. Use this only when you need a completely fresh setup.
